About the film:
A man in an angel costume revisits memories of a failed romance. 'Last Communication with Laura' is a farewell love letter to a girl named Laura.

About the filmmaker:
Alexander is a narrative artist from Ottawa, ON. He studied film production at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University in Montreal, where he wrote and directed his award-winning summative film Built Like Light (2004). He has since produced several films and videos as a founding partner of the North Country Cinema Corp, a director-driven production company based in Calgary, AB. His recent film Lucy James part 1 (2008), a medium-length drama about marriage and friendship, was produced with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and has played to critical acclaim across North America; for Lucy James part 1, Carson received the Elena Zastawnik Award for Best Written Film at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival in Mississippi 2009. His new short, Last Communication with Laura (2009), is a cinematic love letter about a man in an angel costume. Carson currently lives and works in Toronto, ON.
