Last Call | Drama Directed by: Steven Tanenbaum 2008 | 1h 33m | USA | www.lastcallthefilm.com Last Call is a 93-minute snapshot into the lives of a group of New Yorkers, whose dreams, dramas, crucial and not-so-crucial decisions, intersect at a bar over the course of one night. It captures the mini triumphs but also that sense of loneliness and vulnerability that one can feel even in a crowded bar in one of the most crowded cities in the world.
Screening Times: Whitaker Lab Auditorium Friday, 7:15 pm / Saturday, 5:00 pm
About the Director: Steven Tanenbaum is the founder of Another Urban Riff (AUR), and published monologist. Diagnosed at age 11 with arthritic condition that severely curved his spine and is both literal and figurative derivation of his bent perspective. Graduated from Marymount’s theatre school, but received his real education from inmates he taught in maxi-security facility on Rikers Island. Received critical acclaim for shows "Q101", based on those experiences, and "MONO", that ran off-Broadway for 4 years in NYC and was "Critics' Pick" for many publications citing the play for its groundbreaking insight into nightlife of twenty- something New Yorkers. While walking home after a performance of MONO, Steven was hit by a truck. During 2-year long rehabilitation, he began writing the screenplay for Last Call.
